Good Times
Wow, that was one long car ride! You would think driving all day for UPS would "kind of" be the same but 9-11hrs of working doesn't even touch 17.5hrs straight driving "each way"..... Thanks to Brian and Heidi, our first day was broke up though.. They were so nice and let us stop over for the night in Salt Lake City area... Friday was only 11.5 hrs or so...
We made it to Vegas on Saturday with just a couple hours to spare before kick-off so we ate and hung out around the hotel where the game was to be played...

Then it was game-time!
Again, thanks to Jeff, we had great seats!
The game was pretty awesome, we (the shock fans) probably out-numbered the other teams fans 20-1 or so... I think the announcer and the refs were trying to make up for it.. In the end the Shock were just too good.. We won 74-27. The second half was all Shock! Very cool to watch! I'm so glad we got to go!!
With the cup in sight, the players were getting excited ..

A couple of guys in the parking garage had somehow snagged this sign off the stadium wall..
We didn't really get to walk around Vegas too much, just a couple of hours after the game... Knowing the ensuing drive home, we really didn't care. I got a couple of good shots at Paris I'll have to post to show you all. It's good to be home, Vegas stinks "literally" it reeked there...

Thank You Sandpoint U.P.S.!!!!!
Well,
We (my fellow shock fans and I), decided we would drive to Vegas to see the arena cup if I could get Friday off at work.. I really didn't expect to be able to, being low seniority and all.... Monday, my boss was at home sick with food poisoning and I had the determining decision put on hold.. ahhhh,,, I couldn't afford to wait so I called him at home and he said he'd have to look at the schedule tomorrow...
So, tomorrow is now today and my boss, after looking at the schedule, left it up to the other 18-19 drivers in the Center... (we are really tight on having enough drivers to function this week), THANK YOU my coworkers!!!! This could be one of the dumbest things we've ever done, but we are gonna drive to Vegas to support our team!!!!!

Tulsa's path to ArenaCup 2009 ended in Spokane, Wash., late Saturday night.
Spokane's Shock rallied from an 11-point, first-quarter deficit to beat the Talons 51-44 in af2's National Conference playoff final before an estimated 9,000 fans in Spokane Arena.
Shock quarterback Nick Davila overcame a shaky first quarter to throw six touchdown passes, and delivered the game-winner, a 20-yard strike to Markee White with less than two minutes left in the game.
That score put Spokane in front 51-44, but Tulsa had a chance to forge the third tie of the second half.
The Talons had a first down at the Shock 11 with 34.8 seconds left, but Justin Allgood threw four in completions to end Tulsa's dream.
On third down, Allgood threw slightly behind Jeff Hughley, who got his hands on the ball near the goal line, but couldn't hang on.
Spokane, improving to 18-1 overall and 11-0 at home this season, advanced to play in ArenaCup 2009 Saturday in Las Vegas.
The Shock will face Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, which outlasted Green Bay 72-67 in the American Conference championship game Saturday night.
Tulsa, seeking a third ArenaCup appearance, ended its season at 15-4, but not before playing the favored Shock to a standstill over the first 3 1/2 quarters.
The Talons opened the game with a score, held Spokane to a field goal on its first possession and scored again to lead 14-3 with 6:41 left in the first quarter.
Tulsa led for the entire first half, but momentum swung to Spokane when it scored a touchdown and followed by recovering an onside kick late in the first half.
The Talons' LaRico Stevenson appeared to get undercut by a Shock player while going for the high-bouncing ball, which would have resulted in a penalty, and Spokane's Johnie Kirton recovered.
